Doggy Adventures, LLC is a locally owned dog walking company based in Anchorage, Alaska, founded by Melanie Carey in 2020.
What began as a passion for helping dogs live happier, more enriched lives has grown into a trusted business serving hundreds of pets throughout the Anchorage community. With over 100 five-star reviews and recognition from Pet Sitters International, Doggy Adventures has built a reputation for exceptional care, reliability, and personalized service.

Our philosophy focuses on enrichment, exercise, and positive experiences that help dogs thrive both physically and mentally. Whether we’re providing structured walks, working with anxious or reactive dogs, or offering one-on-one attention, we strive to create meaningful experiences that build confidence, encourage exploration, and improve quality of life.
As we continue to grow, our vision includes opening a boutique-style daycare and boarding facility that prioritizes small groups, individualized care, and enrichment-based programming.

Melanie Carey is the founder and owner of Doggy Adventures, a business she started during the pandemic with a dream of providing exceptional care for dogs and peace of mind for their families. Inspired by her reactive dog, Hera, Melanie learned firsthand that every dog has unique needs and deserves the opportunity to build confidence, explore the world, and experience adventures of their own.
A proud Air Force brat and Army military spouse, Melanie understands the importance of trust, reliability, and building strong relationships within a community. She graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage with degrees in Psychology and Human Services, bringing a unique understanding of behavior, communication, and individualized care to her work with dogs and their families.
Today, Doggy Adventures is built on the belief that every dog deserves personalized care, enrichment, and meaningful experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
Melanie is passionate about creating trusted relationships with both dogs and their owners while delivering the highest level of care every step of the way. When she's not working with dogs, she enjoys spending time with her family, supporting local businesses, and giving back to the community she calls home.
